New CMS for Creative Systems

I have never been a fan of content managed systems, but then again, I can create web pages hard coded (to a fashion - I still need our web team). That is until we created our own CMS.

Anyway, a recent project for website management and online marketing led me to use it for Creative Systems and I am a convert, having created most of these pages within about three hours yesterday.

The website is live and it’s a work in progress - I shall be adding more today. That, is the beauty of CMS for online marketing (ours anyway). Each page I create can be specific with title tags, meta descriptions, page names, headings, etc.

I will be doing a case study on this one in a couple of months time so I’ll let you know how we get on.

We are recruiting

Due to growth (and Alex leaving) we are recruiting at The Escape:

  • Middleweight creative - working on some sexy creative work - both traditional brand and marketing, as well as design for web and online.
  • Copywriter - We need someone to help create content for our clients and you may learn a bit of SEO along the way.
  • Project manager - someone experienced to hit the ground running.

If you are hungry for change follow the links.

What do you think about web strategy?

I am currently creating the “web strategy seminar” presentation and I thought I would try a quick straw poll about how people see their own performance online.

The super quick survey (I just timed myself and it took 20 seconds) is here:

I will be publish the results on our Blog during March.

Thanks in advance.

A new head of our design lab

Creativity is key to our business. The constant need to improve what we do and the way we think - almost like our very own design lab in Basingstoke.

The key to this is a central figure and that man joined The Escape yesterday.

Ian Mumford has many years experience in the creative world having worked for agencies on a number of design and marketing projects.

The quality and depth of his creative work; his passion and his ideas; drove us to appoint him as The Escape’s first Creative Director.

Welcome on board Ian.

Relate Basingstoke and Aldershot website

Relate is a national charity that works to promote healthy relationships. With regional offices, we have recently launched a new site for the joint office of Basingstoke & Aldershot Relate.

The site is a simple static site with a news feed from Wordpress.

Two new Escape websites

We have just launched two new websites this week.

Talk Seminars is an update that uses our new CMS solution. This means that the admin team at Talk Forty Four can create their own events, add forms and update their news feeds from an easy to use control panel.

Use Your Noggin - Another redesigned, static website for marketing. The Blog is still being worked on (live next week) and we will be transferring this to Wordpress, SEO’d and social networked to the max.

Daryll just called me, very excited, to tell me they’ve had a new lead already on the first day.

This festive week at The Escape

So, today is the Christmas party. If you haven;t joined our new improved Escape Facebook Group, you may want to so you can see the aftermath… I promise to get videos and photos.

It’s also tinged with sadness as young Adam leaves us to follow his path to fame and fortune. He has left a mark on The Escape with his dry wit, as well as his talent for web marketing. Good luck Adamski!

(here he is with a special chocolate inscribed with his growing venture relating to showbiz gossip (shameless link there for you Adam)

Showbiz Adam

On the work front, yes we did some this week, the CMS website for Dover Port went live to day. We didn’t design it, but we sure make it work hard.  The system is based around our tried and tested content-management system and I’m sure a case study will soon appear on our new Escape website.

From everyone at The Escape - have a happy holiday !

This week at The Escape

Well, the world and his wife seems to have already slowed down… moving towards Christmas… Bah humbug.

This week we sent out out digital Christmas card, which featured Craig in all his glory and The Escapees, showing just how good they are on camera.

Our new Favicon made it’s way onto the web this week, preceding next weeks web launch…. oooooooo.

Rob has been tucking in to ‘client’ lunches all week. Apparently there is now a UK-wide shortage of Chilli Jackets across the country (his favourite client lunch “extravagance”).

On an Escapee note, Adam is leaving us next week to pursue his quest to be the UK’s answer to Perez Hilton, with his Showbiz Spy site, which has really taken off this year. Good luck to Adam. We will all be trying to get him “vey vey drunk” (said in the style of Leslie Phillips) at next weeks Christmas party.
