Online Shopping Peak Times

One one hand, this weekend, the sun was a welcome sight. A bit of gardening, a bit of cycling, but, I couldn’t help ponder the fact that my online shop would be just that little bit quiet in terms of sales. Welcome to retail, I guess.

The times and conditions that make [online] retail peak is an interesting (and very worthwhile) route to follow in terms of research and development.

Indeed, I was quite interested this morning with Simon Dickson’s post referencing a study by Zanox, that states that Monday night is the best time for e-shoppers. As Paul Coggins states:

Consumers are researching their purchases on the country’s high streets at the weekend and then buying them online on a Monday night. After a hard day back at the office, grabbing an online bargain is probably the best way to beat the Monday blues!

And this is where pay-per-click can make the difference for online advertising. Setting up immediate campaigns, or even having them ready just to switch on, to circumstancial changes in things like the weather can draw in related search and if that sounds like to much hard work, well welcome to online retail, I guess!
