London to Paris Cycle Ride for Action Medical Research
So, we made it! 283 miles and four long days in the saddle, Craig and Rob (pictured) finally negotiated the Paris traffic down the Champs Elysees, across the Place de la Concorde finishing up next to the Eiffel Tower to a loud cheer (from their butt cheeks) as well as the large crowd who had traveled over to France to see in the 450 riders.
They hope to have raised £4-5000 for Action Medical Research, for their effort, so well done us I say. It really is a great charity doing some great work and helping a lot of people so the sense of satisfaction is doubled on this challenge and our names are already penciled in for next year.
We met some great people doing the ride and got to know some of our clients a whole lot better. The Simplyhealth Group team (pictured), Richard, Martin, James, Jane, Keith and Matt, kept Rob company up front while Craig struggled along trying to keep up with anyone he could tuck in behind.
A big thank-you to doctors Sandra and Camilla for sorting out ‘ailments’ along the way. Also, the team at Discover Adventure (especially Tiny) who are a great bunch and made the whole thing go very smoothly - not a mean feat with 450 riders. A quick well done also to the guys who did the lunches - amazing food - and last but not least, Ollie and the guys at Action Medical Research.
If you are looking to take up a challenge, cycling from London To Paris is a realistic one and let’s face it, you’ve got twelve months to train. Why not sign up now? We may see you there?
