Nice post here from Vitamin about the make-up of a designer. You could excuse it for being justification for being quite anal but it does ring true.

Designers care… sometimes even too much… and sometimes about the wrong things… but, the more you arm them with the right information at the briefing stage, the more they get it right.

Design isn’t just about pretty pictures and layout (that most people think they can do themselves with Microsoft Clip art), it’s about research, styles, bigger picture cohesiveness (branding). It’s also about consistency at the nth degree. Type styles, sizes, colours, etc.

So you may need to excuse the need for them to wear strange clothes, listen to weird music, and in the case of The Escape, have a couple of designers fixated on The Hoff!

I am very surprised they missed the most important trait of a designer off…. They never do the tea run if they can help it!
