Intel The Brand

Picture_1_6Who would have thought that a computer chip-maker could even have a brand?

Well Intel do. Not only that, but according to the Interbrand consultancy, Intel is the world’s fifth most valuable brand, worth an estimated $36bn (£21bn).

The BBC report that on 5th January Intel will reveil a whole new marketing makeover to incorporate Intel products running in more than PCs.

It just goes to show that it doesn’t matter what you make you can let people know about it and get yourself a recognised brand, whether it be on a global or local basis.

Ooooh and dont they no it - i think they are the most annoying brand in the world and its all because of a little 3 second “noise”. Not only do they have strict coporate style, which i totatly agree with, but its that little “Corporate Noise” which they insist must be played during the middle of any ad that mentions their name whether it be Intel direct advertising of half way through a “Curry’s Sale” ad.

I think that is taking it to far and very egotisical - thank god i’m a mac boy becuase i could never buy a pc with an intel chip becuase of it.

    Two points to that:

    1. Disagree about the sound thing - I think that is such a diferentiator. The fact that basically it is a processor chip company and we all know about them.

    2. Mac Boy - get ready for Intel powered Superfast Macs later this year.

Yes they have done great to get us all knowing the brand - but im sorry the noise,in my opinion, is to much and really annoys me!!

Bring on super fast macs by all means - i can’t see Apple agreeing to that noise interupting one of their funky ads, unless they do a Faboy Slim remix of it for the whole ad - now there is a way round it!
